We're Halfway Through 2026: 5 Lessons to Help You Reset for the Rest of the Year
Halfway through the year is a natural time to reflect.
For some people, it's exciting because they're making progress toward their goals. For others, it can feel discouraging if life hasn't gone according to plan.
During "We Are Halfway There," Brendon Burchard and Chris Suarez reminded us that the halfway point isn't about judging the first six months. It's about deciding how we'll use the next six.
The webinar wasn't filled with complicated strategies. Instead, it focused on simple questions that help us become more intentional with our time, energy, and actions.
Here are the biggest lessons from the session.
1. The Year Isn't Over. It's Time to Reset.

The first message was simple.
We are halfway through the year, but we still have half the year left.
Instead of looking at the calendar with regret, Brendon encouraged everyone to see this moment as an opportunity to reset. Goals can be adjusted. Habits can be rebuilt. New momentum can start today instead of waiting for another January.
Progress doesn't depend on when you begin. It depends on whether you choose to begin.
2. You're Already Living Your Goals
One of the most thought-provoking moments came when Brendon said,
"You are already living your goals."
At first, that sounds confusing.
Most people think of goals as something they're working toward. But Brendon challenged us to look at our current lives instead.
Our daily habits, routines, standards, and decisions are creating the results we have today.
If we're happy with those results, it's likely because our daily actions support them.
If we're frustrated, it may be time to change the habits instead of simply changing the goal.
This isn't about blame - It's about becoming aware of what we're practicing every day.
3. Pay Attention to Where You've Drifted

People rarely give up on their goals overnight.
Most of the time, they slowly drift away from them.
Brendon highlighted three areas where drift usually happens:
Rhythm
Our routines begin to disappear.
The habits that once kept us focused become inconsistent, and before long we're reacting to each day instead of leading it.
Recovery
We stay busy but forget to recharge.
Without proper rest and recovery, it's difficult to bring energy, creativity, or focus to the things that matter most.
Relevance
Sometimes we're productive, but not purposeful.
We spend our days completing tasks without asking if those tasks are actually moving us closer to the life we're trying to build.
Recognizing where you've drifted is the first step toward getting back on track.
4. Don't Let Comfort Replace Purpose
Another lesson that stood out was the difference between purpose and preference.
Many of us say we want growth.
But our daily choices often favor what's comfortable.
We want better health, but we skip the workout.
We want to grow our business, but avoid the difficult conversations.
We want stronger relationships, but choose distractions over connection.
Comfort isn't the enemy.
But when comfort becomes our default, it quietly replaces the purpose we've been chasing.
The good news is that every day gives us another chance to choose differently.
5. Bring a Nine
Brendon challenged everyone with one simple question.
Where can you bring a nine?
Not a ten, not perfection, just more intention.
Maybe it's showing more energy during a meeting, being fully present with your family, or giving your best effort to a project you've been putting off.
The goal isn't to do more, the goal is to show up better.
Confidence Starts with Consistency

One of the most meaningful reminders from the webinar was that confidence isn't something you wait to feel. It's something you build. Every time you keep a promise to yourself, whether it's following through on a commitment, sticking to a habit, or showing up with intention, you strengthen your self-trust. And if you've fallen short this year, give yourself permission to move forward instead of dwelling on the past. Progress comes from consistency, not perfection.
As you reflect on the first half of the year, don't focus only on what still needs work. Take time to celebrate what you've already accomplished, whether that's building better habits, strengthening relationships, learning valuable lessons, or simply staying resilient through challenging seasons. Recognizing those wins creates momentum for what's ahead. Before you step into the second half of the year, ask yourself these five questions:
- Where have I drifted?
- Where have my preferences become louder than my purpose?
- Where do I need to bring a nine?
- What commitment do I need to follow through on?
- What win from the first half of the year deserves to be celebrated?
These simple questions can help you reset your focus, reconnect with your purpose, and make the most of the months ahead.
The biggest takeaway from "We Are Halfway There" is that the second half of the year doesn't have to look like the first.
Every day is another opportunity to reset your habits, reconnect with your purpose, and become more intentional about how you spend your time and energy.
You don't need a new year to make meaningful progress.
You simply need to decide that today is the day you begin again.
